Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Training - Developing Washington's workforce
At this very moment, and around the clock, coast-to-coast, trucks are on the road hauling the essentials—everything the U.S. needs such as food, books, clothing, electronics, automobiles and medical supplies.
But a serious shortage exists in some segments of the trucking industry. It’s not a shortage of freight or equipment; it’s a shortage of men and women qualified to drive trucks.
The Construction Center of Excellence partnered with the Center of Excellence for Global Trade & Supply Chain Management and the Agriculture & Natural Resource Center of Excellence to convene employer roundtables and develop recommendations for Washington’s community and technical colleges to rise to the challenge and prepare more qualified truck drivers.
